Yesterday, shared parental leave came into effect which allowed parents to choose how they share out their leave in a way that works best for families. Lib Dems in government have also announced plans to triple paternal leave for fathers - from 2 weeks to 6 weeks.
This would guarantee fathers real time at home with their babies, and take away some of the stigma around fathers taking proper time off after the birth of their child.
Ros, our candidate for the General Election, has said "In order for there to be real equality, father's need to be given equal opportunity to bring up their children and balance home and work life. This is why I'm so pleased with this announcement."
