Cllr Ian Gardner
Ian is the current Mayor of Chickerell and has been proud to represent Chickerell at civic events all over Dorset and neighbouring counties. He has represented Chickerell at West Dorset for 16 years – originally as a Conservative. However, he joined the Lib Dem Group in 1997 because the Lib Dems are far more community and environmentally minded. He has served on the Boards of the Weymouth & Portland Citizen’s Advice Bureau and Primary Care Group. At West Dorset he concentrates on planning and environmental matters and is a member of the RSPB, Dorset Wildlife Trust. A business management specialist, Ian moved to Dorset in the 1970s with the Ministry of Defence.
