Tony Fifield
Tony is a retired European Director of a large International Company with wide experience of business and management. During his period on the Bridport Town Council he brought his expertise and knowledge to updating the town’s financial systems. This has led to better management of Bridport’s resources allowing the precept to rise by only 1% in 2005-2007, whilst actually increasing services.
During his 4 years on the Town Council he served as Vice-Chair of the Finance Committee & was the main author the 2005 Bridport Retail Survey, and the Bridport Town Plan which allows residents to input their wishes into the programme of projects to be undertaken by the town over the next 3 years.
Tony is a member of Bridport Young Persons Action Trust, a volunteer with the Charmouth Heritage Centre, a fund-raiser for the Weldmar Hospicecare Trust, and was a Director of the Dorset Drug & Alcohol Advisory Service. He is also Treasurer of the community group ‘Discover West Bay’.
