West Dorset Liberal Democrats Select Prospective Parliamentary Candidate

Liberal Democrats in the constituency of West Dorset have chosen Justine McGuinness as parliamentary spokesperson for the seat. An active Liberal Democrat campaigner for more than a decade, Ms McGuinness, 34, was educated and grew up in Dorset, where she lives near Dorchester. She is the Managing Director of a specialist public affairs consultancy that focuses on environmental, agricultural, health and consumer affairs issues. For over five years she has advised the UK’s environmental regulator, the Environment Agency.

Justine McGuinness said: “I am delighted to have been selected to fight my home constituency and look forward to working on behalf of all the people of West Dorset. I grew up and went to school here. I now live near Dorchester where I run my own business, and my family and I are actively involved in the local community. This is where my heart and home are - I am a West Dorset woman, through and through.”

Gil Streets, chairman of West Dorset Liberal Democrats said: “I am delighted that West Dorset has selected a local candidate to beat Oliver Letwin at the next General Election. The Liberal Democrat Party are the only party making gains at elections nationally even here in West Dorset we have recently made a significant gain in Bridport. Justine will work to take our success right across West Dorset.”
